Maria Jose Perez

Naturopath

My name is María José, a naturopath specializing in Ayurveda and a traditionally trained practitioner. Originally from Mexico, my life path led me from my academic studies in art in Paris to a deep inner calling for ancestral medicines.

After a demanding artistic journey and a period of personal exhaustion, I found in Ayurveda a living, comprehensive, and profoundly transformative medicine. Over three years ago, I began my clinical practice in Montreal, where I support my clients with a personalized, grounded, and integrative approach.

I offer support adapted to modern imbalances: chronic stress, digestive, hormonal, inflammatory, psycho-emotional and other disorders, while honoring the foundations of classical Ayurveda and the relevant contributions of functional medicine.

My practice is based around several therapeutic pillars:

  • Ayurvedic naturopathy consultations with concrete, progressive and deeply individualized recommendations and programs.

  • Specialized body treatments, including: Marma therapy, a subtle energetic approach that harmonizes the nervous system, emotions and the life force energy known as prana.
External basti, a targeted technique of retaining hot oil on key areas of the body (sacrum, heart, stomach, knees, etc.) to relieve, soothe and nourish deeply.
Ayurvedic facial treatments, designed as true regeneration rituals that combine beauty, doshic balance and conscious touch.

  • Personalized therapeutic yoga sessions, focused on regulating the nervous system, digestion, vitality and refocusing.

  • TanMātra Chikitsā practices, a form of sensory therapy that mobilizes subtle elements such as sounds, colors, scents, textures and shapes to restore balance to the senses and the soul.

I deeply believe in the power of living traditions. My role is to translate Ayurveda in a way that is accessible, respectful, and adapted to each person, while honoring its essence. My perspective as an art historian and my connection to the ritual practices of traditional Mexican medicine also inform my approach to support: each treatment becomes a space for reconnecting with oneself, the body, and the beauty of balance.
